I grew up in the small town of Sisters, Oregon spending most of my days with my buddies exploring, discovering and enjoying our time outside. I continued on to the University of Oregon where I graduated with a degree in Photojournalism. I focus on outdoor, active, artistic, quirky communities and the locals that give a place its own unique characteristics.

As a visual journalist my job is to seek out stories and then produce a set of images that together tell an elegant story. Sometimes these stories are in our backyard or at a neighbors house, while other times the story comes from the other side of the world. When it comes down to it we are all indigenous to the earth and many of our stories can bring out emotions or inspirations. I strive to bring that feeling of relating to something or someone through my images.

In order to capture these moments of my subject I know that I must immerse myself within the community around me, understand their sense of place, and take part in their every day experiences.  Whether that is skiing, surfing, fishing, rafting, farming, the list goes on. This is what lets me build a connection and sense of trust that allows me to dive into these stories.
